Kristina Bezenah Keto Success Story
It is amazing what can be done when you switch your lifestyle over to a keto approach to life. This is exactly what Kristina has done – as you see from her high school photo on the left, progressing clockwise as she begins keto and sees her whole life change.
It is not surprising to hear Kristina say she got out of a toxic relationship and decided to take control of her life.
As she wrote on instagram when the results were getting noticed:
” I used to be severely overweight for a period of my life (probably considered obese). Some people have known me a long time and have seen my #progress, but some only know me now and don't know what I used to be. There are a few years of my life with zero to very few pictures of me because I hated the way I looked. After getting out of a toxic relationship (when I ate my feelings out of depression), I was able to lose a little bit on my own by focusing on #me and getting back into activities I loved (musical theater) and overall being happy again. But I was still overweight and sort of hit a plateau, so I gave up on trying because nothing seemed to be working. It wasn't until October of 2016 that I learned about the #ketogenic lifestyle and started that way of eating and was able to lose 10 pounds in 2 months, just from making better food choices. In January of 2017, I began a fitness regime, going to the #gym about 4-5 days a week doing a mix of weight lifting and cardio. My plan was to hit my #goalweight within one year. (To be honest, I didn't think I was going to do it, but told myself I'd be happy if I got close.) It's been one year since I did my first #workout on my own and I am so excited to say that I did it…I HIT MY GOAL WEIGHT!!! From June 2015 to now, I have lost about 76 pounds/7 dress sizes and I'm a happier, healthier, and stronger version of myself than I ever was before! It's not just about the number and how I look, but I've learned that I need to take care of my body from the inside out for #health reasons too. I now have more energy and I feel absolutely amazing. I finally feel like the version of myself that I always envisioned in my head. This has been a long and hard #journey and there were many times I thought I might give up. I'm sharing these pictures not out of vanity, but because I'm just so #happy that I did it and I want people to know that you can do whatever you set your mind to!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 #follow”
As you can see, it is not just a 30 day keto diet and you're done. By choosing a new way of living, of making better choices, a complete body makeover is achieved.

What a difference a year makes, around 40 lbs off (not my total weight loss, but for one year I am very proud of myself!) Thanksgiving 2016 vs Thanksgiving 2017… almost at my goal, just need to push myself a little harder!
The picture on the left is Kristina around high school, about 10 years ago, and with regular gym workouts, cardio workouts, and the keto approach to life, we are starting to see a transformation in the way Kristina looks.
In 2016, Kristina is going through her journey and finding what works for her, and notices some things, like gym time and cardio, are doing good things to her body:
#transformationtuesdaypost!! These two pictures were taken almost one year apart. I wore the same pants (which are more loose this year) and tried to do the same pose and angle for accurate comparison. I probably weighed at least 10-15 more pounds than I do now and I can tell I didn’t have as much muscle mass back then. A year ago, it felt like these changes were taking forever, but looking back I see some major differences. Especially in my legs which look smaller and more defined and I see my glute workouts have been paying off…much more lifted and defined booty! I hope to continue seeing changes in the next year
Thanksgiving 2017, Kristina doubles down on being serious, following keto more carefully, learning to keep in ketosis, and getting a solid routine at the gym, working out both with weights and with cardio exercises, as she states in this 2018 post:
Three years ago I was celebrating my birthday at the most magical place on Earth, but I definitely wasn’t feeling so magical. I hated the way I looked and pictures like the one on the left stayed on my Dad’s camera because I was embarrassed to let anyone see them. I still regret that I don’t have a lot of family pictures around that time because I refused to let anyone take them. It wasn’t just about my looks…I had zero energy, I was always irritable, and no fun to be around. Fast forward to now and I am happier than ever and loving life. It’s been a long #journey, but I’m so glad I started it. I love being #healthy again and having the #confidence to be myself. Never settle because you can always make a #change. It’s sooo worth it!!
Now, look at where Kristina has gotten to since Nov 2018!
In addition to having more energy, feeling better, and wanting to experience life more fully, Kristina has been approached by photographers, collabs, and modelling companies asking her to if she'd like to do some photo work. Women's Health reaches out and does a story on Kristina!
It's impressive to see her in Paris, France and other exotic places, looking fresh and young and taking life by the horns.
Kristina could be in Milan, or Paris, doing a workout between photo shoots. To look at the photo at the top and see an everyday normal girl, and then the photos of her transformation, it truly is inspirational that anyone can achieve great things if we set our minds to it.
Kristina is also volunteering for sick kids hospitals and doing a lot of great things for the community, so a big thank you to Kristina for all that you do!
